Relative humidity (RH) is the percentage of moisture in the air compared to the maximum percentage of moisture the air can hold. For example, if the air contains only half the moisture it can hold, it is 50% relative humidity. As the outside temperature drops, so does the relative humidity and the air inside your home can become uncomfortably dry causing static electricity, damage to your plants, woodwork and other valuables and even dry out your skin. By adding a humidifier to your home furnace you are able to enhance your comfort during these dry times. The optimal range for annual indoor relative humidity is between 35 and 55 percent. Parker Heating and Air has a humidifier to enhance your comfort and fit your home. CLICK HERE for a comparison of humidifier types.
